Seller's comments about 1959' Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud

This truly outstanding, top class Rolls Royce Silver Cloud I Sports Saloon was delivered new on the 20th February 1959 to Weybridge Automobiles Ltd finished in Sand over Sable with Red coachline and Beige hide with Beige piping, Fawn headcloth and carpets and fitted with power assisted steering. The Rolls Royce was supplied new to Breezecraft Limited on Staines High Street, Middlesex for the use of A. J Hawthorn Esq, a property developer who was so enamored with the Silver Cloud range, he changed this car in 1961 for a Cloud II, and in 1965 purchased a Cloud III.
In 1961 the Rolls Royce changed hands for the first time, and it would stay in the same family for 30 years with father and later son. The second owner was Ernest Farrow of Colchester, and the car was registered to the family business, E W Farrow & Sons Ltd who sold surplus army supplies before specializing in irrigation pumps. After almost 30 years in the Farrow family the Rolls Royce sold to Neville Cormack OBE, founder of Cormar Carpets (1956), and one of the pioneers of tufted carpet in the UK having imported machinery from the USA, then starting production at Nunn Hills Mill in the Rossendale Valley.
In 1996 Rolls Royce experts P&A Wood had the car in their hands and it featured on their Celebration of 50 years of the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud and Bentley S Series marketing material and Christmas Cards. A card, and poster are with the cars comprehensive history folder. The car was also featured in the P&A Wood advert in the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club magazine described as remarkably excellent original condition and only 35, 000 miles. Since being sold by the renowned Rolls Royce distributors the car has had four owners over the last 25 years (one of being the proprietor of Royce Motor Services who owned the car for a number of years) and has covered a further 16, 500 miles taking the mileage to just 51, 500.
The Rolls has arrived with us as an outstanding correct and original low mileage car presented in exceptional condition. The bodywork is first class, the Sand over Sable paintwork pristine and the chromework gleams. The interior is wonderfully original with gorgeous leather trim, and smells as it did when leaving the factory in 1959. The woodwork is beautiful, over rugs in excellent condition and the immaculate boot area is as you would expect when almost new. This is a top quality motor car, and this will not disappoint in any respect.
7655 MY comes with a comprehensive history with over 30 years of MOT certificates and invoices for regular maintenance and servicing totaling almost £20, 000 over the last 20 years or so. Invoices are on file from Bentley main agents Broughtons of Cheltenham, Royce Motor Services and last year over £8000 spent with specialists on major work to the braking and power steering system. The car is a first class on the road, as expected of a superbly maintained, low mileage original car that has been in the hands of meticulous owners and renowned Rolls Royce experts. This is a wonderful car, one of the most exceptional Cloud's we have had the delight of selling.
