Seller's comments about 1968' Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow

Chassis srh3800 was supplied new by broughtons of cheltenham to it's first owner mr arthur simonds on 13/03/68. mr simonds ordered the car in the superb combination of sable with beige hide and fawn carpets. The optional extras specified were air conditioning, chocolate colour lambswool rugs, sundym glass( to the front drop glasses only) and a radiomobile 980 radio. Mr simonds. The second owner was a mr frank cot who took ownership of the car in 1970 and kept it until 26/11/75 when it was again sold by broughtons to a mr william parrish for the sum of 6750. incredibly mr parrish kept the car for 30 years and only sold it because of failing eyesight. There are several letters of correspondence between mr parris. And broughtons recording the sale and subsequent delivery of the car. Broughtons were even collecting the car from mr parrish's home in cambridgeshire to carry out his first two or three services until mann egerton's of kings lynn took over in the early 80's. All of the handbooks, original ve.60 registration document, broughtons sales brochure, tool kit and jack are still present. This car really has been pampered throughout it's life and remains superbly original. The leather has never been connollised and the wood has never been refurbished. The extensive history record of servicing and upkeep clearly indicates a car that has been looked after properly. Having had several silver shadow's of all variants over the years this really is a standout car. It still feels exceptionally tight and has a very punchy motor. These early chippendale dash cars really were built to a higher standard compared to the later cars which became much more mass produced and unfortunately were subject to the rolls royce accountants starting to streamline production and cut back on quality. Just serviced and ready to go...viewing can be arranged either in knightsbridge or dunsfold, surrey..
