Seller's comments about 1954' Simca 9 Aronde Mille Miglia

In the early 50’s Simca presented the 9 Aronde. A sympathetic sedan positioned in the Peugeot 203 and Renault 4CV segment. Sympathetic, back then an allrounder, thought up and developed for the public at large. The ‘9’ we have here still brings a smile to today’s public as multiple participant in the Mille Miglia.

This Simca 9 Aronde hit the tarmac in 1954 at a time when the mille Miglia was still an annual event. The owner who bought this car new would have never imagined it would end up taking part in the legendary rally. The Aronde however has made a recent popular appearance at the tour that runs from Brescia to Rome and back, as an extensive book with many pictures bares witness.

The Simca not only looks great it is also in great shape. Anything else would have been unlikely considering only a few months ago the Aronde took part in Europe’s most gracious rally. “Exceptionally authentic” is the first thing that comes to mind when you see the car. The exterior, interior and mechanical aspects exude the correct atmosphere. The immediate eye catcher is of course the roof luggage rack with period correct luggage.

The interior too invites you to step in and drive away. The original dashboard, stylish headlining and lovely upholstery emit a warm homely feeling. In front of you is simplicity itself with a semi-circular speedometer, a two-spoke steering wheel and a manual 4-speed steering column gearbox.

Mechanically very sound, no unwanted surprises with its simple technology. The 1, 221 cc 4-cylinder puts out 45 hp allowing the less than 1000 kg car to swiftly move along. With entries for the 2023 Mille Miglia now open, this must be one of the most charming classics currently on sale.
