The car was delivered new in 1974 to its first owner, the current owner's father. For years, the car was used within the family, until it eventually ended up in a garage and sat idle for 15 years. In 1996, the Stag was sold and underwent a restoration. In the years that followed, the car changed hands several times, until in 2020 the sixth owner - the son of the first owner - managed to find the car and bought it back. About the Triumph Stag The Triumph Stag was designed by famous Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti to compete with the Mercedes-Benz SL models and appeared in 1970. The car was an immediate success in Britain, where demand sometimes exceeded supply. All Stags were four-seat convertible coupes and came with a Triumph 3. 0L V8 engine with two Zenith-Stromberg carburettors. Although the Stag was initially intended for the US market, mechanical problems gave it a lesser reputation there. Overheating was a well-known shortcoming, but well-maintained and modified examples are beloved and reliable classics today. A total of 25, 939 Stags were produced between 1970 and 1977.
