We are pleased to offer onto the market this rebuilt, original RHD Triumph TR3. Supplied with its correct steel wheels and working overdrive, 968 UYM was supplied new in South Africa in 1956 where it then spent almost 60 years. In 2014, its owner, a Pretoria based paint supplier sold the TR3 to its first UK owner who then imported the car ahead of a substantial restoration. A photo record records a rolling shell restoration program that included an engine strip down and rebuild with new pistons and liners, and major mechanical overhaul and re-commission. Photos show a high-quality painted shell in build-up, prior to an interior re-trim, various new brightwork and mechanical re-fit and build up. New parts are documented by way of invoices and include a high torque stater motor, top ball joints, shock absorbers, steering bushes, fuel pump, front brake calipers and new rear wheel cylinders. On completion of the work in 2015, just one year after purchase the TR3 was MOT tested and since then has covered very little mileage. 968 UYM seven years on since completion presents very well with a lovely paint finish, high quality brightwork and smart, well presented trim. The engine compartment and boot area are well detailed, and on the road the TR3 handles superbly and boasts a strong, fit healthy engine, strong gearbox and working overdrive. The TR3 performs beautifully and makes an ideal usable, structurally excellent open top 1950's sports car that is ready to enjoy.
