This right-hand drive TR4A is one of the most desirable IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) British sports cars available and offers superb 1960s motoring in abundance.
With just 2 recorded owners from new, this 1965 Triumph TR4 IRS is fabulously presented in Triumph’s beautiful Signal Red combined with a very smart full grey leather interior with red piping and finished off with the beautiful classic wooden dash.
Purchased from new by a Miss Ruth Carolyne-Palmer of Rotherham and remained in her possession for some 35 years. Passing into the hands of vehicle restoration firm proprietor Michael Gillett in March of 2000, a complete body-off-chassis restoration was undertaken over a subsequent two-year period.
The entire restoration process was fully documented with more than sixty photographs captured and included within the car’s substantial history file. In addition, we have MOT certificates dating back to 2002, tax disks from 1977, a large quantity of invoices for new parts used during the restoration and workshop manuals.
After the full bare metal and mechanical restoration in the early 2000s and it has since covered less than 10, 000 miles, meaning it remains in excellent shape and in tip-top condition. Upon bringing it into our showroom we have since improved this TR4 further by replacing the front and rear bumpers and by upgrading it to an electronic ignition, so it is on the button every time.
Fairmont Sports and Classics will gladly supply this vehicle with an MOT, a fresh oil and filter service and prospective buyers are welcome to view the vehicle’s underside.
