A delightful type 114 beetle in pearl white.... this car is one of a limited production run bridging 1966 - 1967: the engine lid (rear) is an ‘intermediate’ shape, slightly flattened-off over the registration plate area. This was a departure from the fully-rounded rear shape of models up to 1966 and models from 1967 onwards featured a fully squared-off rear shape.
the car was last mot'd and serviced in 2016 and was placed into dry-storage shortly afterwards where it has sat for the last few years.... it will need a light recommission: But the engine starts on the button and runs sweatly, clutch feels good.... it drives in all gears and stops on a nice firm brake pedal. Mechanically, this car has been well looked after with records showing engine rebuilds in the early-'90s and 2004 with regular servicing and occasional upgrades such as a 6v to 12v conversion and a modification to run on unleaded petrol.
the interior oozes germanic originality.... it's in good condition throughout save for a small tear at the front of the rear bench seat base. The paintwork has cleaned-up a treat but will need attention in a few area. To treat some light rusting and, for a pristine look, to sort-out a small ding on the front wing. The underside appears solid and we understand that professional welding repairs have been made to the subframe and sills in the early 2010s.
this is a lovely car with loads of history - including the original hand-written bill-of-sale from 1966 - which with a little bit of tlc will be on the road for many years to come.
