This lovely, very original RHD Amazone is in very good condition and has always been looked after well, always stored in a dry garage. Imported to Holland from South Africa in 2007. No rust of any importance. 122S, two doors, registered 1967. 1, 778cc OHV 4-cyl engine. 4-speed manual transmission. Rear wheel drive. Front disc brakes with rear drums. Red trim in good condition. Front seat belts. Additional passenger-side rearview mirror. Two-speed wipers and electric washers. Two-speed heater. Spare wheel with jack/ tools. 5x radial tires. The original fuel pump has recently been reconditioned. This particular example is the higher-spec 122S (‘S’ for Sport), which has two doors and twin carburetors for greater performance. Climbing into the driver’s seat, the B18 fires up easily from cold and settles down once warmed up. Getting out onto the road, the engine pulls very well and has good oil pressure. The gearbox selects all gears smoothly, easy to drive. It cruises along at 60-65mph easily even being a non-overdrive car, keeping up well with modern traffic. The brakes pull the car to a stop cleanly, and the steering is nice and direct.
