Hi, due to change of job I'm forced to sell my beloved P1800ES which I purchased in the UK a couple of years ago. It's from August 1973, Manual with Overdrive, in its original gold with black leather and brown carpets. It spent all its live in the UK, it covered 72500 miles, and it comes with a big folder full of receipts and MOT certificates since the 80's. It's now Italian registered. It's visible near Milan, and I can help with shipment everywhere... In the pictures of the "complete" car you can see how it was when I purchased it. So...why the low price, you'd answer... Let's me explain... Body: I started to restore the body sending it to a body shop for front floors and sill replacement, as you can see in the "body-shop" pictures, that was a very professional job, not and amateur one... At the moment the car needs little repair at the lower panels of the rear wings and some DIY details, plus the final preparation and painting. The engine bay, as well as the top of front wing (usually a typical rust point of these Volvos...) are pristine. The glass seals are fine and supple, I fit a used rust free door instead of repair bottom rust of the driver one, which will go with the car. All the rest of the body looks nice and just need preparation for painting The bright work if fine but for the bumpers, which will do with a re-plated. Interior: Inside the car have clean original front carpets and new boot carpets (the old ones are there but the colour faded...), the passenger seat is absolutely fine, with clean and supple black leather, while the driver one needs new cover due to 2 tears in the leather. The dashboard is in fine condition, all the indicators work correctly. A modern radio is fitted, but I found a Volvo original one with fake wood pattern as the fascia. Mechanical: The car starts at first turn of the key and drive faultlessy, with a super smooth overdrive. When I bought the car it was MOTed but I drove it a couple of times only, because I'd like to restore the body first.
At the end, I believe that this could be a nice opportunity for someone who loves this funky little Volvo to purchased a car which just needs some time spent in it, with the hard (...and expensive...) welding job already done...
I'd be extemely happy to send you all the detailed pictures that you could like to ask me. I'm open to sensible, non offensive offers...
