1961' Volvo PV544

Special about a Volvo PV544 is the recognisably curved, backwards sloping roofline with the relatively high rear window. This special design feature has led to the car being called a 'Kattenrug' (translated: a cat back) in the Netherlands. For several years the model was sold besides the 'Amazon' and technical updates occurred almost simultaneously. The 1. 8 liter engine was introduced in 1961 and this car is one of the early examples with this bigger engine. Further features that characterize this example are the ribbon speedometer, the three-seater rear bench, the fully synchronized four-speed gearbox and the 6-Volt electrical system.
