1927 Dodge Brothers –Sport Roadster BF 6542
An exciting chance to own a rare, ex-museum, 124 series Sport Roadster in fine restored condition, the only listed survivor of this model known to the Dodge Brothers club roster.
The sport-roadster was considered to be the top of the 124 series, indeed the series was only produced for 73 days, ensuring this to be amongst the rarest of Dodge Brother motorcars in extant.
In really super condition throughout, the car is a testament to the high-quality restoration, originally carried out some four decades ago by the World-famous Harrah’s motor museum in America. It was on display until the collection was disbanded after Harrah’s death, accompanying the car is a copy of the listing from the museum and the dating plates attached to the car during its display. Upon sale from the Museum, the Dodge was shipped to the U.K to form part of yet another collection from which it was purchased by the current owner.
Finished in Dark green over black wings with black interior, the Dodge has required very little work to return it to active use, the current owner, a retired engineer, has used the car for numerous VSCC shows and rallies, the odd trip to Goodwood and of course for VSCC trials for which these American cars are so well suited.
Running very well, with no known faults, BF6542 represents the final incarnation of Dodges ‘Fast Four’ engine-d motorcars, and as such features the 5-bearing crankshaft ensuring increased reliability and smoother running, not to mention that desirable higher top speed!
With plenty of power, a smooth and comfortable ride, attractive lines and driving very nicely, this well restored and very rare Dodge, is a great alternative to the ubiquitous Model A Ford, ideal for competing in, or just taking friends & family to the pub.
BF 6542 is now reluctantly offered for sale due to a new purchase, a large history file accompanies the car including recent show awards, V5 registration certificate and VSCC Buff form.
