Today, surviving examples offer an appealing and comparatively unusual alternative to their more familiar British contemporaries.This striking 1931 Essex Super Six arrived in the United Kingdom from Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2002. It was subsequently subjected to a painstaking restoration carried out over approximately ten years and has evidently been lovingly cared for since its completion. Originally finished in maroon with black fenders, the Essex now presents in a particularly eye-catching shade of bold blue, complemented by a smart grey leather interior. Its generous proportions, distinctive period styling and impressive road presence ensure that it stands out wherever it is shown.Used as a wedding car over the years, the Essex has played a part in creating many memorable occasions. Its accompanying history file contains a selection of invoices and previous MOT certificates, together with the original shipping invoice relating to its journey from New Zealand.
