1978 Escort RS 2000 Custom. This car has had 5 previous owners and has covered 89000 miles. It comes with the V5, original service book, with a few stamps from its early years. we also have the original Ford Operation and Care booklet. The car was first registered in the Exeter area. We have a load of MOTs going right back to its first one in 1981. The car appears to have had a restoration at some point and has only covered around 3000 miles in the last 20 years. It has a period glass sunroof fitted.Body - RS2000 body with all the right brackets in the right places. Has been restored at some point in its life. Has had repairs on front floors in past and boot wells and sills. Car is painted body colour underneath. Good panels gaps. Paint is very tidy. No rust or bubbling. Good looking useable example but not a concours car for sure. Has a glass sunroof fitted. This car previously had a black vinyl roof which was removed at some point and the hockey sticks that hold the end of the roof refitted.Mechanics - Car starts and runs no problem. Would appear to be a standard spec engine. Has the correct alloy sump, bellhousing and mounts. 5 speed box fitted. looks like its had new track rod ends, steering rack, track control; arms, braided flexi pipes, rear bilsteins all fitted during the restoration. It drives quite well. It has a minor hesitation going onto second choke until it warms up, but it is only minor.Interior - Retrimnmed seats which look great. Good door cards, dash top , uncut door cards and good headlining. All dash gauges work as they should. Seats dont have the lift handles for some reason to fold them forwardWheels - Polished Rs Alloys with 185 / 70/ 13 tyres with plenty tread.Good tidy useable example which is on the button and ready to go.
