A stalled restoration project on a Jaguar MK9 automatic with excellent chassis and solid body.
Some new metal has been welded into the doors and front wing on the Left hand side of the car , but the panelwork needs completing , it is currently painted in etch primer, and there are a few other areas that need attention including the bottom of the offside rear door, rear valance and front scuttle , but the sills and floors are very sound.
The brake calipers and stainless exhaust system have been removed , but are with the car . The bumpers and over-riders and nearside interior door panels are missing. The auto transmission lever has been moved to the centre of the tunnel and whether it has had a later Xj gearbox fitted we are unsure.
The Mk9 was last taxed for the road in 2007. We have had the engine running from a fuel can , and it is very sweet with excellent oil pressure.
The interior will require restoration , particularly to the woodwork which will need new veneer , the leather seats will respond to treatment.
This car will require a full restoration , but it is by no means a basket case, and deserves the attention of a skilled enthusiast. We have applied for a V5 document which will be forwarded to the new owner.
