1922 Citroen 5hp This excellent little Citroen was found in a scrapyard in Hong Kong in the 90s . Restoration was begun there and finished in the UK. The car is still in excellent condition, starting easily on the handle and driving as you would expect from a light car of 856cc, three non-synchro gears and two-wheel brakes. The previous owner invested in a professional engine overhaul, which was completed to a high standard. The pedals have been changed to the standard modern order, from their original centre-throttle arrangement, and the handbrake now operates the transmission brake while the foot pedal operates the rear-wheel brakes. There is some play in the steering, and the car comes with a re-wound starter motor, which has not yet been fitted. Also included is a box of spares (a few magnetos in various states of repair, a cylinder head, new spare clutch lining, fuel tank). Many other spare parts are readily available new and second hand from France I took part in the VSCC Summer Rally in the Citroen this year and she performed admirably, coming 4th in class (and before you ask, there were more than four cars in our category!) The time has come for me to part with my beloved little Citroen, as I would like to move on to a larger vintage car (so would be very interested in a swap).
