Comentarios del vendedor sobre 1960' Hillman Husky
This is a very rare surviving & original 1960 Husky Series I Estate Car ( or Shooting-brake) of the extensive Rootes Group model line-up. Finished in the original 2-tone colour scheme accompanied by fitted white wall tyres, it's an absolutely stunning looking classic from the early 1960's. The car is very original and in lovely condition with areas of a light sympathetic restoration, which includes the professional fitting of a completely new interior roof lining. The surprisingly spacious interior of biscuit beige upholstery is in excellent condition and the rear seat folds down to a virtually flat & very usable position. The detailed engine bay is extremely clean and the conventional layout makes it very accessible & easy to work on. The speedometer reads 91000, which is believed to be genuine and there is a huge full & comprehensive history file, which includes old Mot certificates, tax discs and many repair & parts invoices. A new clutch assembly was recently fitted and despite classic car exemption, it has a new 12 months' Mot certificate and tax. It has also just had it's regular annual service so it's ready to simply drive & enjoy. The lively 1390 cc OHV engine and a 4-speed floor change gearbox is a joy to drive and is very quiet, running beautifully at a steady 50 mph on the open road. It has a fairly new battery and is a very reliable starter in all weathers. The car has many period accessories including AA & RAC badges, wing mirrors, chrome exhaust trim and a genuine original metal AA supplied GB Plate, plus a colour coordinated picnic hamper. Over the years, I have collected many original Hillman Husky related sales brochures & handbooks, all of which I will leave in the car for the new owner. I have owned the car for 5 years and I believe that there are very few surviving Series I Hillman Huskys' in existence, especially in lovely original condition and in this rather unusual & pretty colour scheme. In fact, this car was featured in an extensive & personal 6 page Rootes Group article in Classic Car Mart Magazine, September 2014 edition, a copy of which will remain with the car too. I live in North Norfolk situated near Fakenham, which is located 20 miles from Kings Lynn & Norwich in either direction. I work from home so viewing can be most days & times by arrangement. I have lots of additional photos available which I can send if required. My email address is; [email protected] . This really is a lovely car and a very usable classic. It certainly creates great interest wherever I go and you very rarely see another Hillman Husky at a Classic Car Show. I am a member of the Hillman Owner's Club and the car is listed on the UK Register. Most parts & spares are very easily sourced through the club and the many excellent Rootes Group suppliers. If it helps, I do know of a local Classic car Recovery/Transporter company based in Norwich and I would be happy to pass on his details should you require a quotation for vehicle collection & delivery from Norfolk. I have just reluctantly reduced the asking price by a hefty one thousand pounds(!!) for a quick sale, as I urgently need the space in my garage. Hopefully this may be of interest to a genuine enthusiast who will appreciate the lovely condition and the scarcity of this beautiful car. Please contact me for further details or come and take a look for yourself; you'll love it! When or where will you find another one like this?
