1929 Pontiac Chief of the sixes tourer.
Chassis number: P430222
Registration number: BF7042
A powerful six-cylinder tourer boasting a short stroke 40hp three-litre engine. This car comes to us fresh from having completed a major run across the entire length of France; a feat it performed with aplomb in the company of an assortment of early cars. It has been part of a prominent UK car collection of veteran & other early cars all of which receive regular use by the enthusiast owners.
The car is finished in primrose yellow over maroon giving the car a jaunty appearance. The paint is some years old & lightly patinated but presents very very well. The seats are beige & again in good order with maroon carpets completing the ensemble. A black hood easily unfurls & side screens slot into the doors for closed motoring in inclement weather.
These early American cars are robust, strong & powerful making for a pleasant motoring experience. The throttle is to the centre with the brake to the right of it. The gearbox is easily mastered & a pleasure to use. The car runs well in modern traffic & never feels slow. The car sits on solid wheels shod with 4 good tyres. The spare is rear mounted behind a useful fold-out luggage rack. The car is in fine running order as attested to by its recent Gallic travels & will provide delightful summer motoring for the next owner.
