Austin 12 Windsor 1927
Purchased in September from Hereford from a Gentleman that owned it for 10 years. Its a very nice usable car with very good patina. During the time with the previous owner head skimmed,reground valves,reconditioned water pump and a new radiator. Its also had new tyre's and a heavy duty Battery fitted and a stainless exhaust system.
These cars are very much over engineered, so will require very little attention. The car is very original and always draws a lot of interest.The body is sound but with a few used marks but not enough to get it done in my view. It was bought back to the UK in 1991 from South Africa by a vintage Austin specialist in Birmingham, having been built for the Export market and shipped to South Africa in October, 1927. It was in the same family ownership for the whole of its time in South Africa and in 1992 returned to England.
My view is that you will need to do nothing to the car beyond put petrol in it and enjoy.
