Commentaires du vendeur sur 1938' Austin 7 Ruby
This late model Austin Seven Ruby has had but four owners from new. It was supplied by Goddard’s of Salisbury to a local doctor in September 1938 and remains in very original condition, retaining its correct engine. Being the De Luxe edition, this Ruby features a Pytchley sliding roof, which is in good working order and also a driver operated rear window blind. The seats are still upholstered in their original leather which is a little worn in places but possessed of a wonderful patina and it would be a shame to re-trim them; some careful conservation would be much more appropriate. A brand new set of dark red carpets has just been fitted which sets off the interior nicely.
The body is in excellent structural order but has at some time been resprayed maroon – it was originally black. The paint does polish to a very good shine but there is a degree of micro-blistering which may require some remedial work in the future, though many would say to leave it as it is. There is a decent history file with the car and plenty of receipts for work done which show the car has been well maintained and cherished over the years. As the final iteration of the immortal Seven, the Ruby is a practical and deservedly popular little car. This well documented example will provide enjoyable pre-war motoring for a very modest outlay and is sure to raise a smile wherever you drive it. As always I am willing to take an interesting vehicle in part exchange. For further information or to make an appointment to view please call James on 07980 982367
