1939' Austin Ascot 12/4

There's something really exciting when you climb aboard and perch yourself behind the wheel of this lovely restored Austin Ascot - I call it the car with a smile on it's face.
They provided plenty of space for four adults in comfort, decent size boot and proved extremely reliable in service so naturally made a lot of loyal friends along the way.

Finished in Royal blue over black wings with contrasting dark blue leather seats. The car has been the subject of a full strip down to the bare chassis, components overhauled and all painted out on the underside looking very smart indeed. Engine fully re-built, completely re-wired, new headlining with evidence of chrome-plating on all the external fittings. The coachwork displays a really good depth of shine all over, with the added attraction of a metal sliding sunroof and opening front windscreen. Inside and quite remarkable still has the original leather seats a big plus that should be treasured today. I particularly love the Royal pull cords in the back and it seems so does everyone else.

On the road this is very plesent car to drive, pulls strongly and has one of the most easy to operate no crunch gearboxes on the planet for a car of its age so no double de-clutching required.
Brakes feel really firm and has recently been fitted out with five new chunky radial tyres so feels and steers well. Stainless steel exhaust has been fitted and we have a full photographic evidence of the re-build on file.
The car has been with a very dear friend /customer of ours for the last two years, he has enjoyed the car immensely and it has just provided the vintage transport for my granddaughters end of term Proms.
