Commentaires du vendeur sur 1931' Austin Austin 7 Rl Saloon
i have owned this little car for one year and it has been an absolute joy to drive at least once a week.
The engine is a total rebuild by The Austineers. Vince Leek did work to the suspension, chassis and running gear. The body work was restored by Austin specialist John Heath. The interior has been fully re trimmed to Austin’s style with high quality black leather including the door panels. The headlining is magnificent and the original sliding roof is fully restored to an as new condition, fully fitted black carpets with bound edges completes the interior. A comprehensive set of paperwork comes with the car, including some photographs and invoices with considerable detail on the work done. The car was found in the 1980s, it had been neglected with corrosion and panel damage that required the services of a specialist. There were many items that were dealt with in addition to the work detailed in the major invoices, such as the wheels, electric, lighting etc. All the work was done with care and an eye to detail. The RL type two door saloon was in production from March 1930 until the RM saloon was introduced on 7th January 1931. This particular RL was registered on the 17th January 1931 and it features the short scuttle design with louvered bonnet sides and a chrome radiator surround. RL saloons feature the 750cc side valve engine with a three speed gearbox, coil ignition, coupled brakes, electric start, opening windscreen, sunshine roof and Lucas R47 double dip headlights.
I have never seen an Austin 7 with such perfect interior trim and headlining. I have not had to do any work on the car. it drives well and the engine and gears are smooth. there are no oil leaks or faults of any kind.
