1977' Austin Mini Clubman 1100Cc

The Clubman was British Leyland's attempt to update the ever popular Mini. It had originally been intended as a hatchback, but ended up being little more than a smart remodeling of the front-end. Selling at a higher price, and marketed as the upmarket Mini - a tactic that actually worked.
The Clubman had a longer, squared-off nose. The interior was enhanced with instruments now in front of the driver instead of in the centre. An estate version was available from launch, complete with fake plastic wood trim down the sides.
This very low mileage example was first registered on 31st of October 1977 and supplied by Bishops Stortford Leyland Dealers Mann Egerton.The car was sold to a lady who kept the car just 6 months passing the car on to a close friend. This second lady owner drove the car until 1985 when she put the car into storage and never used it again. At the time the Mini was put into storage it had covered just 8,703 miles. The Mini was taxed for 1986 but the Road Fund Licence disc was never used and is still in the copious history file.
The history file also contains the second lady owners log book with every MOT certificate, its 1986 Road fund Licence disc, it's original British Leyland passport to Service book, original handbook, every service invoice, MOT check lists and an original British Leyland recall letter.
The Mini lay slumbering in the lady's garage until early in 2015.The car then rediscovered by her family when clearing her house.
The Mini Clubman has now been recommissioned and now shows a speedometer reading of 8,770 miles.

Would make a superb addition to any British Leyland collection or Museum exhibit.
