An opportunity to acquire a rare and beautiful example of a 1956 Austin FL1 car. The current estimate is less than 15 left globally.
The Austin FL1 is the Hire Car version of the FX3 London cab with 4 doors, a bench front seat, column gear change and umbrella-type handbrake handle. The two occasional pop-up seats faced forward. Seats 6 people plus the driver comfortably. The car has been used as a wedding car therefore maintained to the highest standards.
The car is in great condition, with old English white body and black wings. Solid, rust free underneath; Austin wheel trims and whitewalls ‘Pigs ears’ indicators adorn the roof of the vehicle
Mechanically, the original 2.2 Austin OHV 4 cylinder engine is in great condition, being meticulously maintained and restored throughout ownership. Parts are widely available for this car as the engine was also fitted to the Austin Healey and Atlantic and the running gear was the same as the Austin 16.
The brown leather interior is original with 2 pop up leather seats and original brass fire extinguisher
Large trunk and hinged registration plate to allow for travel with boot lid down and picnic boxes attached. Huge box of documentation, receipts, photographs etc. All Documents available & 2x Model FL1 cars
