See this 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible on display in our DEN showroom.

For sale in our Denver showroom is a 1970 Top Banana Yellow Hemi Challenger convertible. This beautiful and rare convertible is one of 3884 produced in 1970. Introduced in fall 1969 for the 1970 model year, it was one of two Chrysler E-body cars, the other being the slightly smaller Plymouth Barracuda. "Both the Challenger and Barracuda were available in a staggering number of trim and option levels" and were intended "to compete against cars like the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang, and to do it while offering virtually every engine in Chrysler's inventory. The performance model was the R/T (Road/Track), with a 383 cu in (6.28 L) "Magnum" V8, rated at 335 bhp; 300 bhp for 1971, due to a drop-in compression. The standard transmission was a 3-speed manual. Optional R/T engines were the 375 bhp 440 cu in (7.2 L) Magnum, the 390 bhp 440 CID Six-Pack and the 425 bhp 426 cu in (7.0 L) Hemi. The R/T was available in either the hardtop or convertible. The Challenger R/T came with a Rallye instrument cluster that included a 150-mph speedometer, an 8,000 rpm tachometer, 1972–1974 tachometer went to 7,000 rpm and an oil pressure gauge. In 1972, the R/T badging was dropped and these models were called "Rallye", although they were never badged as such. The Rallye model featured a faux brake vent on the fenders. The shaker hood scoop was not available after 1971. The same year this car rolled off the assembly line the world's first jumbo-jet, the Boeing 747, has its first commercial flight on January 22nd of 1970.

Starting with: factory Top Banana Yellow paint with over 700 hours in the body work, black top and interior, Reilly Motorsports AlterKtion front coil-over independent front suspension, Flaming River power steering rack, custom 6 leaf rear springs, Willwood 6 piston 13.1” front brakes, Willwood 4 piston 11.5” rear brakes with electric parking brake, Hurst front brake line-lock, balanced an blueprinted 518 CID 426 Hemi, Stage V “reproduction look” cylinder heads, Stage V intake and valve covers, hydraulic cam, 10qt aluminum oil pan, electric water pump, dual Edelbrock Thunder AVS 650 cfm carbs, Shaker air cleaner, Computronix DIS-8 distributor less ignition, Edelbrock electric fuel pump, TTI 2 1/8 ceramic coated headers, TTI collectors and X pipe, Passon Performance A833 4 speed transmission, Hurst competition pistol grip shifter, Strange S-60 rear end, 3.73 gears, Littlefuse iSiS Power electrical management system with Canbus, push button start, power top with glass rear window, four hole dash with white face gauges. And the list goes on. When you climb inside you can see the aerospace influence. You’ll understand the quality of the build when you let loose over 600 HP from Hemi under the hood. The top down and a cool summer breeze blowing through your hair.
