1958' Land Rover Series 1 88" 2.25 Petrol

Only 3 owners from new and not an ex-military model or import this is UK made and privately owned. Registration 7062HK is non transferable.

Originally a 2.0 diesel this has been fitted with an ex military Series 3 2.25 petrol engine and front axle. Gearbox and back axle original.

We purchased this from the last owner who stopped using it 10 years ago due to ill health. This has been through our workshop for recommissioning sympathetically so retains it's amazing patina of age.

Chassis was found to be very solid and only required a few repairs, we then waxed it to preserve it. Similarily the bulkhead was also solid so only minor repairs to the footwell. A replacement windscreen frame and new bulkhead to windscreen seal fitted at the same time. We also fitted 4 new leaf springs + shock absorbers, new water pump, new front and rear crank shaft oil seals, fully serviced so all new fluids and filters + spark plugs + HT leads, new battery, new Exmoor Trim front seats in green vinyl. Also has long wheel base wheel rims and larger 750R16 tyres with lots of tread.

Starts and drives very well with strong performance from the engine and no smoke. Gears change nicely, no whining from the gearbox or diffs.

Bodywork is very straight other than a repair to the passenger front wing corner. The paintwork is weathered and has a fantastic patina that only years of weather can give.

MOT and tax exempt but has MOT until August 2019 for peace of mind.

Overall a solid example that is ready to find it's next home.
