A truly stunning example of Chamonix’s faithful recreation of Porsche's iconic 550’S Spyder. This 550 is finished in a gorgeous yellow and certainly gives it a classic look. The body is in exceptional condition with only a couple of very minor marks as pictured above. The wheels are as new as one would expect with such a low mileage example with no marks or kerbing. The tyres are as new with very little wear and are a set of four matching Pirelli P6000’s. The interior is finished in black leather with matching black carpets, Chromed roll over hoops, OMP black leather steering wheel, Sabelt 2-point harness’s and period style dials giving the Spyder period look. Mechanically the 550’S is superb with the engine as new, and is a VW Golf GTi 1.8 litre 8 valve water cooled unit with a respectable 125bhp which combined with a very light body propels the car to 60 in a little over six seconds. Transmission is a modern 5 speed unit and like the engine is as new being a brand new unit when built. The Chassis is a bespoke hand built 3” tubular chassis and uses a de-dion tube, Radius rods, and Pan-hard rod to the rear with coil over shocks and front VW beetle torsion tube for its suspension and certainly makes for a very sporty drive. Brakes are VW front and rear disc brakes with the hand brake to the rear and bring the 550 to a full stop very quickly when required to do so. This is a truly rare opportunity to acquire a lovely, faithful recreation of the Porsche 550 Spyder hand built at Chamonix’s factory in Brazil and would give its new owner many miles of driving pleasure!
