Commentaires du vendeur sur 1976' Porsche 911

This 911 S is a great way to enjoy classic 911 ownership.

It's a sensible buy. You can look forward to owning a classic slim body 911 that will be a welcome guest anywhere.

This is a 1976 (first year of the galvanized body) and supplied in California, January 1st 1976. For forty years it's escaped the worst of what the UK climate offers and since its overseas journey, has only covered a couple of thousand miles. The key thing is that it has a solid body and has not been messed about with. Floors, sills and the normal corrosion-prone areas are clean upon inspection and it appears to be accident-free. Look after it and it will look after you too.

The red paintwork is neat and nicely presentable, as is the tan interior, matching carpets, leather seats and door panels. Note the very nice brightwork and the desirable original Fuchs with the polished petals in the correct 6x15 size. Also in its favour, correct period spot lamps, the original steering wheel, the opening rear quarter windows, factory air conditioning and no sunroof. Under the front, you find the original wheel, jack and the tool roll.

Many of these cars have had spec changes, but this one has the right trim, wheels and the correct engine, sporting the higher compression more powerful S version. The 2.7 is a nice free-revving unit with great sound and lots of torque. It has the 5 speed (some had 4) gearbox.

Since its arrival here, it has had a service (with spark plugs) and suspension maintenance at Official Porsche Centre Bristol in 2018 and has covered less than 350 since. There is a large history folder which suggests that it spent much of its life on the West Coast before moving to Virginia in 2014. It arrived in the UK in late 2015/early 2016.

The history reports a full engine rebuild whilst still in the US, just 3,400 miles ago. This included, judging by the invoice, new rockers, rod bearings, main bearings, timing chains, valve guides, new valves, oil pumps, clutch etc.

Our view is that this is a nice, presentable driver quality classic 911, in need of nothing major or immediate. A classic 911 you can enjoy and is likely to provide very good value in the future.
