Further entries for this auction are now being accepted, please contact Matthew Whitney at our salerooms on 01935 812277 A 1925 Renault NN Four Seat Tourer, registration number BF 5865, chassis number 191033, maroon over black. The Renault NN was introduced in 1925 and was a slightly larger version of the previous type KJ model. The new NN carried over some innovations from the earlier model, the most significant of these was the 951 cc side valve engine with a detachable cylinder head, a first for Renault. Further improvements included a steel chassis incorporating semi-elliptic front springs and a transverse leaf spring at the rear, where the axel was located by a pair of trailing arms. The new model had a top speed in the region of 41 mph depending on the final drive ratio. This NN was the subject of a body off restoration by the previous owner between 2007/2010, which has now mellowed nicely and displays a charming patina. The maroon coach work is complemented by a black leather interior, double duck canvas roof and full tonneau cover. In the current ownership, the Renault has been well maintained and has attended local classic car events. She is offered for auction with a large history file containing photographs of the restoration in various stages, a dating letter from Renault, numerous receipts, past MOTs, repair manual (photocopy) and owner's club correspondence. V5, MOT and tax exempt
