Commentaires du vendeur sur 1937' Riley 9 Monaco
1937 Riley 9 Monaco six-light saloon car Finished in black over red, with matching wire-spoke wheels, and a completely refurbished red leather interior, refinished woodwork, and new carpets. Powered by the famous twin-cam Riley Nine engine in "Special Series" twin-carburettor guise, this particular example is fitted with the interesting and rare (for Riley) Borg Warner 3-speed "dual overdrive" transmission. There is a stack of history with the car detailing the recommissioning work undertaken which include bare-metal respray in two-pack paint, re-chroming, engine work, refurbishment of instruments, dynamo & regulator, rebuilt Luvax shock absorbers, complete rewiring, radiator re-core, replacement ash framing, re-upholstering and so on. Everything is in good working order, even the time clock, so long as you remember to wind it up! Discreet indicators have been fitted within the side & tail lights using a Lucas DB10 control box, and the original semaphores are wired in parallel so that they still work too. The car has recently had a full service with new oil, filter, plugs and points, and starts easily on the button (or the starting handle). The Riley is great fun to drive and certainly draws attention.
