Simca 8 Deho Evocation!

First presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1937, the Simca 8 was a family car sold in France from 1937 to 1951. Having gone on sale almost immediately after the show in November '37, it was available as a saloon, coupé or cabriolet.

1949 saw Simca introduce the Sport version of the 8. It had a 50hp 1,200cc engine with beautiful coupe bodywork by Facel Metallon and it was intended for Alpine rally, The Le-man 24 hour, and other competition Meanwhile, Roger Deho had opened his workshop in 1932 preparing sports cars for competition, and in similar vein to Gordini-tuned Renaults and Abarth-modified Fiats, Deho also worked his magic on Simcas. The new Sport 8 model provided him with an excellent basis for a competitive sports racer.

The Deho body was designed by Geo Ham and the 1200cc fiat worked by Roger Deho included special cylinder head, balanced crankshaft, intake and exhaust manifolds etc

This very pretty sports car is from a collection from a deceased estate.

Finished in Mille-miglia racing Red ,The open top tourer body is aluminium and has been beautifully crafted with brown leather interior. Its 1,200cc engine with twin carburettors provides it with lively performance in such a light weight body, Very spacious for two people, and it's been fully restored to "PebbleBeach turn key" condition.
