Commentaires du vendeur sur 1967' Sunbeam Alpine
I have owned the car for 6 years, and used it as a daily driver until the end of 2014, when I left the country to travel. The MOT expired in October 2014 and it has been on a sorn since then. In this time I have left home and moved to Yorkshire as I took a new job which I couldn't turn down, which sadly meant my Sunbeam has had to stay at my parents house in Sussex. Just before i moved to Yorkshire I began stripping the car as I was going to restore it. The engine runs well and has always been strong in the time I've owned it, however it may well need an overhaul. The wiring is a problem and is very tired, and has caused problems in the past. Underneath the car is ok, has had a patch welded in (not by me but it's a functional repair). The outer bodywork is very poor and needs lots of attention. I have two lovely seats, a centre console and rear bench seat to go with the car, and also a factory N/S/F wing to replace the current one which in my opinion is beyond saving, which I will include in the sale. Originally it used twin strombergs which were problematic, so I bought and fitted a single Weber conversion kit at a cost of over £750, which is recommended and exclusively available through the owners club, and this really improves the performance of the car. I work in classic restoration, mostly on high end European classics and the Sunbeam is now just at the back of the queue and I'll never have the time to do it. It needs time and money spent on it, this won't suit someone looking to flip it for a quick buck. I'd like the car to go to a good home and for someone to enjoy it as much as I used to. I also have a very rare factory hard top that is available separately should you wish to have it. All in all it's tired but by no means a basket case like the ones I see on eBay. Logbook in my name. No time wasters, serious enquiries only after 6pm weekdays. Prefer phone calls to emails please.
