This Gorgeous Totem Alfa Romeo Restomod Smokes More Than Tires
Somehow, just about everything Alfa Romeo touched in the 1960s was a work of art. Even the relatively affordable Giulia sedans and coupes looked gorgeous, and today, those cars are prized among car enthusiasts for their uniquely Italian styling and performance.

Totem Automobili knows this and has made quite a business of building the GT and GT Electric, modernized versions of the two-door Alfa with carbon fiber bodywork, billet aluminum suspension components, and gorgeous interior materials that suit their nearly $630,000 starting prices. Totem just delivered its 16th GT Electric, and it has some unique bits that'll make its new owner very happy.

An Homage To The Canals Of Venice
Totem coated the carbon fiber body panels of GT Electric No. 16, also known as "Amelie," a beautiful shade of blue-green called Lagoon Teal, a color created by the company to pay homage to its Venetian homeland. Working with the client on their preferences, Totem also crafted satin bronze exterior trim for the GT Electric, a finish that appears on the door handles, window surrounds, windshield wiper arms, and 12-hole GTAm wheels. The exterior also gets satin-finished carbon fiber for the rocker panels and rear diffuser, although in a bespoke herringbone weave pattern that hasn't been used on a GT Electric before.

The interior is every bit as understated and elegant as the exterior, with Truffle Brown Nappa leather and a unique houndstooth interior fabric that was selected specifically for Amelie. The seatbacks and center console get the same herringbone carbon weave to tie the cabin into the bodywork, while the door panels and instrument cluster make use of Totem's signature checkerboard carbon pattern. There's also a modernized infotainment system, including what we're 99 percent sure is a Porsche Classic Communication Management touchscreen hidden behind Totem-specific trim.

Smoking Isn't Cool (Unless You're Behind The Wheel Of This)
One of the most notable additions Totem made to the GT Electric is a custom-designed cigar humidor, trimmed in the same fabric and leather as the cabin. Built specifically for Amelie, the humidor both represents the client's personal hobbies and shows off Totem's customization abilities, producing bespoke products for each of its customers. The storage box fits neatly in the rear boot, in a small frunk under the hood, or on the two-seat interior's rear parcel shelf – if your mom asks, you could say it's for safelty transporting family photos or pocket-size fine art.

Totem GT Electric Alfa Romeo Interior Cigar Box 4For those who'd prefer to leave smoking to the tires, the Totem GT Electric has a single motor on the rear axle producing 590 horsepower and 664 pound-feet, with a limited-slip differential doing its best to portion grip appropriately. Hook it up right and you'll hit 60 miles per hour in under 3 seconds, although exercising more restraint gives the car a range of between 250 and 300 miles, depending on prevailing conditions. The carbon fiber monocoque carves out space for an 81-kilowatt-hour battery, which recharges at a rate of up to 90 kilowatts.

It would be uncouth to discuss final price for the one-of-a-kind Totem GT Electric No. 16, but considering the base car starts at €539,000 (nearly $630,000 at current exchange rates), we can't imagine this one came cheap. Just using the options available on the Totem configurator, we came up with a car that costs at least €589,100 ($686,000), with things like the cigar humidor, unique carbon fiber pattern, and bespoke upholstery adding still more to that price. But hey, if you've got the cash, there are far uglier ways to spend it.
