Comentários do vendedor sobre 1937' Austin Austin 7

For Sale: Austin 7 Rolling Chassis (1937) in pieces and ready for rebuilding.
It has been in dry storage for the last 50 years and prior to that was stored in a farm outbuilding in the South Hams, the farmer's son had intended to create a special.
It was stripped for storage back when I first purchased it.
Just about all the parts that were dismantled and stripped all those years ago have now been collected together (including some extra bits) as shown in the photographs and text below.

Listing of the main parts that are included (I’ve not listed individual bits from the engine parts): Might appear random order but it’s in a similar order to the Austin & Parts List.
Chassis with the extended arms as the later 7s (Ruby) NUMBER STAMPED ON PLATE: 276516 - July 1937 (according to my list in the A7 book)
Engine (in pieces) Block number M291665 - note there are 3 Crankshafts (all 3 bearing) block / Head/ flywheel clutch assembly Numerous pistons and piston rods.
There is no radiator but the Ruby Radiator front is included (with an incomplete script badge).
Petrol Tanks - there are 3 included.
Exhaust manifold (this one has been shot blasted - looks good)
Carburettor
Front section to the exhaust system
Pedals, Brake pedal is there, obviously the Clutch pedal is attached to the gearbox but I don’t think there is an accelerator pedal as this would normally be attached to the body and there is no body!
Dynamo - The Distributor is attached and Fan assembly is in one of the boxes.
Gearbox (4 speed) complete with the speedo cable (outer and inner)
Handbrake and hand brake operating rod - note there is a spare handbrake operating rod.
Front Axle (ends protected buy brown paper
Swivel axles (near and offside)
Front Wheel hubs - complete with brake assemblies.
2 in no. Steering columns with steering wheels attached.
Front Axle (ends protected in brown paper)
Steering wheels and Steering column/box (x TWO) \
Steering Arms
Steering Tubes
Rear Axle - ONE complete and THREE Spare axles.
Propeller Shaft x THREE
Torque Tube x THREE
Front Wing Brackets (pair)
Front Bumper Brackets
Shock Absorbers - Front and Rear.
Road Wheels 17” x SIX
Brake Cables and rods are numerous
Front and rear Springs (2 front springs)

There should be just about enough bits included to create a running chassis (after reconditioning / renovation), however for any bits that might be missing there are numerous Austin 7 Parts suppliers and some very good Austin 7 Members Clubs.

I had planned to purchase an Austin 7 Sports body to fit on to this chassis but time and space are now a problem (as always!).

The condition of the steel chassis is good, just years of dust and some surface rusting.
The Engine is in bits - Engine No M291665 (I don’t think this is the one that came with the car, in fact I cannot remember if it actually came with an engine).

There is no V5 with this Chassis. The Registration Number DTT961 (Doncaster original registration) came attached to the chassis when I purchased it, the Chassis Number should align with this registration, however I never received a log book when I purchased it, I haven’t retained the original receipt either (sorry). I have never tried registration retention as from what I understand the car needs to be road worthy before application can be made and it never been close to being on the road!

I have some books / manuals and paperwork to go with the sale.

I am happy to answer any questions.
More photographs are available on request.
