Comentários do vendedor sobre 1951' Bentley Mark VI Mk Vi
1951 Bentley Mk VI 4.25l HJ Mulliner ‘Lightweight’ saloon. One of only 41 built.
These rare all-aluminium 'Lightweight' Saloons were offered by H.J. Mulliner for Bentley's most discerning customers wanting something sleeker, faster, and more stylish than the Standard Steel Saloon.
It had an original sale price of £5,105 against the £3,674 for the Standard Steel offering, and in many ways was the direct predecessor to the Continental coupe which followed in 1952, sharing the same chassis and aircraft inspired construction methods. Only 41 were built on the Mk6 chassis however, making them considerably rarer than the Continental though providing a similar if more practical driving experience.
This well presented 1951 example, chassis B145LH, is an older restoration finished in silver over regal red, with the cabin trimmed in red velour and red leather. Fitted with the 4.25l engine and a manual gearbox, she was first delivered to Attwood and sons, Wolverhampton in April 1951 for its original owner, Sir W. Cooper. She was later shipped overseas to Australia and has subsequently benefitted from the dry climates of the southern hemisphere.
Recently repatriated to the UK by its current owner, she has been re-registered with its original 1951 Licence plate PDH36, and comes supported with fully comprehensive, historic documentation back to 1951.
A fascinating piece of Bentley history.
