Comentários do vendedor sobre 1985' Fiat X19 X1/9

Fiat Bertone X1/9 for sale. 1985
This car underwent a full bare metal restoration in 2007 and was also converted to 1300 style quarter bumpers and front spoiler at the same time. The car was painted in Fiat ‘Rialto Blue’ and when completed, it was given a full Zeibart rust proofing treatment.
It was used sparingly for summer classic tours and holidays etc. and always kept in a heated garage under cover when not in use.
During late 2015, the interior was completely stripped out and restored. The interior trim, dash and bulkhead were all repainted from the many shades of brown to satin black. New tailored carpets were fitted and the seats, door cards and knee pads were sent away for trimming in ivory leather. A new set of Minilite style wheels and tyres were then fitted.
Whilst this work was being done, I obtained a spare engine and set about rebuilding a ‘fast road’ unit. The block was rebored +40 and new piston, rings and new big end and main bearings. New clutch was fitted. The head was pressure tested and skimmed, valves were reground, ports were polished and opened out to suit a purpose made inlet manifold to suit a set of motorbike carburettors from a Kawasaki GSX900 converted and jetted to suit. A new stage 1 ‘fast road’ camshaft was fitted and all valve clearances adjusted to suit. While rebuilding the engine, I fitted new oil pump, water pump, alternator, starter motor and obviously new cam belt. The assembly was then fitted with crank position sensor and throttle position sensor, a programmable ECU, distributorless ignition and a bespoke 4 into 1 stainless exhaust manifold and silencer. Once the new engine was in the car, it was set up on a rolling road and tuned to approx. 120bhp. This has proved to be totally reliable, tractable and fun to drive with the added bonus of sounding fabulous. I have been advised that it will be good for 150-160bhp but I’m happy with it as it is.
To complement the new engine, new discs, pads and calipers were fitted at the same time too. This car has wanted for nothing and has always been a pleasure to own and drive but, it’s time to start a new project so that is the reason for the sale.

Mileage is now 79500 with the new engine having covered just 1200 miles. The car has MOT until May 2018 and is ready to be enjoyed.
