For sale in our Denver showroom is a 1969 Numbers Matching Candy Apple Red Ford Mustang Mach 1. The Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a performance-oriented option package of the Ford Mustang, originally introduced by Ford in August 1968 as a package for the 1969 model year. The Mach 1 title adorned performance oriented Mustang offerings until the original retirement of the moniker in 1978. As part of a Ford heritage program, the Mach 1 package returned in 2003 as a high performance version of the New Edge platform. Visual connections to the 1969 model were integrated into the design to pay homage to the original. This generation of the Mach 1 was discontinued after the 2004 model year, with the introduction of the fifth-generation Mustang.
This beautiful Candy Apple Red Mach1 is all original besides the paint that was redone in 1994 with the original color and paint scheme. She only has 42,803 original miles. That has always been stored in a garage with a car cover. Standard equipment was a 351 cu in Windsor with dual exhaust, backed by a 3 speed FMX Select Shift Cruise-0-Matic automatic transmission, and a 9" traction lok rear axle, SelectAire A/C, black knit vinyl Mach 1 Hi back bucket seats, power front disc brakes, Shaker Hood Scoop, tinted glass, power steering, AM radio, and an added Code Alarm Pro 1000 security system.
You’ll be amazed how well this Mach 1 drives down the road. You almost forget that you’re behind the wheel of a 48 year old muscle car. As you look past the wood steering wheel and the Shaker Hood Scoop with the AM radio rocking out your favorite tunes, you’ll remember what it was like to be in 1969 when gas was only .35 cents a gallon. And Neil Armstrong uttering his famous words "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." While taking his first step on the surface of the moon.
