Comentários do vendedor sobre 1929' Humber 9/20 & 9/28
TWO VINTAGE HUMBERs celebrating 50 golden years together in the current ownership!
ITEM 1
1929/30 Humber 9/28 chassis with running gear - and also complete engine as seen in the pallet photo but minus 9/28 radiator
Registered SV9062 with with modern 4-page DVLA Swansea V5
The engine/gearbox/clutch is complete. The running gear and the gearbox for this chassis is at present fitted to the shortened Humber 9/20 chassis also described here
Humber 9/28 Dimensions : Wheelbase : 8’6”, Track 4’0 ½”, if with body the overall length would be 12’0”.
Engine : 1056cc, 100mm stroke x 58mm bore, overhead inlet, side exhaust.
1925/8 Humber 9/20 chassis with 9/20 radiator - as mounted on the shortened chassis, together with the engine carcass you see loosely placed on the short chassis in the photo. If the engine components were complete, which they are not – the dimensions would be the same as the engine for the 9/28 above, that is to say 1056cc, 100mm stroke x 58mm bore, overhead inlet, side exhaust. NOTE : the complete gearbox attached to the engine carcass belongs to the 9/28 engine seen on the pallet
Both 9/28 axles are at present fitted to the 9/20 chassis along with a 9/28 steering box and pedal unit.
The chassis was shortened some 50 years ago as a potential trials car by the owner while he was working as an apprentice at Crosthwaite & Gardiner. He mentions there is a slight twist on the 9/20’s left dumb iron.
Humber 9/20 Dimensions are shortened for this example for sale...
Dimensions & engine are normally the same as a 9/28 except for 6’ more in overall length on a standard 9/20 :-
Wheelbase : 8’6”, Track 4’0 ½”, if with body the overall length would be 12’6”.
Engine : 1056cc, 100mm stroke x 58mm bore, overhead inlet, side exhaust, parts mostly missing for this 9/20 chassis as seen mocked up in the photos
A SMORGESBORD of married Humbers celebrating 50 golden years together in the current ownership!
To clarify what is for sale : At the time 50 years ago, the 1928/30 Humber 9/28 chassis on wooden trestles was stripped of both axles / steering box, pedals and gearbox which are currently fitted to the shortened 9/20 chassis you see on the four 9/28 artillery wheels – so those parts actually belong to the 9/28 seen here on the 2 wooden trestles
