1966 MK2 Jaguar
83K Miles, Manual, Overdrive, 4.2 XK Engine, Remarkably solid throughout!

A stunning example of the iconic Mk2 Jaguar. Originally a 3.4 manual car, this example has spend the first part of its life in California where it received an engine upgrade to a 4.2L XK engine from a later 420. Along with power steering and a full colour change from white to gunmetal grey. It then left the USA and has spent its more recent years in Japan. The car was imported to the UK in 2019 and is now fully registered and is supplied with full MOT. Since arriving in the UK the car has received some light recommissioning and a major service. QV London undertook the initial work, replacing many worn parts such as ball joints, drop links and fitting new bushes and leaf springs required for the MOT. The dynamo was overhauled and new voltage regulator fitted along with four new tyres. Since passing the MOT the car has also seen further investment including a major service including all fluids, full stainless steel exhaust system, new engine mounts and the car is now running and driving superbly. The gearbox and clutch are lovely and the brakes pull the car up straight with no issues. On inspection, the underside of the car was found to be in fantastic condition throughout, most likely due to its life in a dry climate. With no corrosion to speak of, the underside of the car has been treated with a light underseal to further protect it. The paintwork was obviously done to a high standard when repainted although there are some marks conducive with age, overall the car presents very well. Maybe not one for the purists with its larger engine, Moto-Lita steering wheel and period style bonnet straps, but this car has a real presence and certainly drives as well if not better than any other Mk2 we’ve experienced. The interior is in fine order, the wood not concours but certainly very presentable and the chrome work is in great shape. A lovely example and the reassurance that the body and chassis are not going to require large investment in the future!
