Comentários do vendedor sobre 1959' Jaguar Xk150 S

Announced in May 1957 the XK150 was radically different from the XK140. A one-piece windscreen replaced the split screen, and the wing line no longer dropped so deeply at the doors. The widened bonnet opened down to the wings, and on the open two-seater the windscreen frame was moved back 4 inches to make the bonnet longer. The dashboard was now trimmed in leather. Thinner doors gave more interior space.
Suspension and chassis were very similar to the XK140, and steering was by rack and pinion; power steering was not offered. The standard engine, was the 3.4 litre DOHC Jaguar straight-6 rated at 180 bhp at 5750 rpm.

The spring of 1958 saw the introduction of special equipment models fitted with disc brakes and an SE engine using twin 1.75-inch SU carburettors and a modified cylinder head with larger exhaust valves. This boosted the power to 210 bhp at 5500 rpm. Most export cars were SE models. There was a third option, an "S" engine with three 2-inch HD8 carburettors and a straight-port cylinder head. This increased power to a claimed 250 bhp. For 1960 there was the new option of the 3.8 litre engine rated at 220 bhp). XK150S 3.8 output was 265 bhp. A 3.8 litre 150S could top 135 mph and go from 0–60 mph in around 7.0 seconds. Four-wheel Dunlop 12 in disc brakes appeared for the first time.
Production ended in October 1960, and totalled 2265 Roadsters, 4445 Fixed Head Coupés and 2672 Drophead Coupés.

The Vendor has owned this car since October 1967. He has used the car and kept it in a very good condition ever since. It is the rare and desirable XK150 3.4S FHC of which there were less than 200 examples made.

The car is said to be in very good drivable condition, It has fairly recently had a full respray, and the headlining has been renewed. It has been re-wired, new carpets and seat belts have been fitted. The car is mechanically sound, and has been fitted with an electronic ignition, alternator, Kenlow Fan. screw-on oil filter, stainless steel exhaust, Jaguar E-Type V12 fuel pump, single 12v battery. This work has been done in the interest of ease of use and reliability. The original twin fuel pumps, oil filter canister and dynamo are with the car should you wish to re-fit them. The car has Chrome Wire Wheels, a high ratio rear axle, and electric windscreen washers.
