Comentários do vendedor sobre 1971' MG Mgb Gt Gt V8
Buying an MGB is all about the shell and this one is exceptional; very straight, good panel gaps and shut lines and Ziebarted from new. The builder, a mechanic and ex-apprentice at an MG garage was amazed at how good the shell was; the best he had ever seen. Once he had removed the thick wax that had been copiously applied he could see that hardly any repairs would be needed. The shell was stripped to bare metal and re-sprayed. Having a Factory V8 to use as a pattern, he copied it and externally, it is difficult to tell this car from a V8 produced by MG. But that's where the similarity ends. The specification is huge. The car which has done approximately four thousand miles since its conversion has not been over restored and retains much of its originality; the all important patina and integrity, the only concession being new carpets. Most of the mechanical components are new and to V8 specification. If you are looking for a concours garage queen, this car will not be for you and the price reflects that. However if you enjoy your motoring and a car that is a joy to drive please read on. This car will out-perform the standard Factory version in every department as a result of the sophisticated rear suspension which eliminates roll over steer, gives a much more pleasant ride and of course the improved performance of the fuel injection engine. The superb Frontline caster correction kit eliminates the weighting up of the steering mid-corner and vastly improves sensitivity with finger tip control rather than having to laboriously heave it round bend after bend. The car is an absolute pleasure to drive on twisty roads and being a true Gran Turismo, is capable of travelling serious distances in comfort and quietness; ideal for continental holidays. In my tenure, the car has wanted for nothing and during this time, an ongoing programme of upgrades has been carried out to further improve a car that was superb in the first place. Technical Details The freshly rebuilt 3.5 litre engine has covered approximately four thousand miles and is fitted with 3.9 heads and cam along with the Lucas 14cux hotwire fuel injection system. A bespoke chipped ecu supplied and fitted by Tornado Systems has made a big difference to the driving experience and has, with the optimised fuel mapping, added smoothness throughout the rev range, throttle responsiveness and an additional 30bhp @ 5000 rpm over the standard ecu. Rover LT77 5-Speed gearbox New dual circuit master cylinder 3.07:1 Differential brand new supplied and fitted by MGOC. Frontline Developments 6-Link rear suspension. You won't find this in the Frontline catalogue or price list. This is very special and normally only fitted to cars they build in house. Frontline Caster Correction kit Polybushed wishbones New electrically heated rear screen relayed and controlled with billet aluminium switch New electrically heated windscreen relayed and controlled with billet aluminium switch Smiths time clock Two console mounted auxiliary power supplies New 75 Amp up-rated alternator Distributor freshly rebuilt by the Distributor Doctor with bespoke advance curve. New Mass Airflow Meter New coolant temperature sensor ACT Throttle potentiometer upgrade kit using modern, reasonably priced and easy to obtain Colvern unit. New throtte spindle and seal. RV8 throttle linkage and accelerator cable. New ignition coil and remote mounted ignition amplifier to avoid possible heat damage when in its usual position on the distributor casing. Rebuilt and calibrated speedometer New fuel gauge and sender The car comes with comprehensive records of all work carried out during my ownership, comprising a folder containing purchase invoices which confirm the parts fitted and the suppliers from whence they came. The car is tax exempt and comes with a current MOT which expires on 23rd July 2019 or if desired, the car can come with a new MOT. The car comes complete with a touring kit of spares including fan belt and hoses, etc. If required, at no extra cost, there is a spare rear axle with good 3.9:1 ratio differential, semi-elliptic springs and rear lever arm dampers. Also included Rover-Gauge diagnostic software and USB cable. I’m well into my seventies and the attraction of tinkering in a cold workshop is losing its appeal and the time has come to say goodbye to the mighty V8 and begin another motoring chapter.
