This Triumph Roadster was first registered on the 2nd May 1948 and whilst an 1800 model, the car has been upgraded with a 2000 Vanguard engine and four speed floor change gearbox. The Triumph was laid up during the early 2000’s and was subject of a mechanical overhaul that included fitting the larger more desirable 2.0 engine and four speed gearbox that was completed during the summer of 2006. The car featured in the December 2007/January 2008 Triumph Roadster Club Review that documented its restoration and improvements.

In 2010 the Roadster was North of Inverness but had not been in regular use for around one year and the car had only covered 150 miles since the mechanical overhaul. The owner had spent more time dealing with cosmetics, he treated the car to a new hood, re-chromed the radiator and headlamps, fitted new hub caps and mirrors and reported that including the earlier mechanical restoration, a total of £16000 had been spent on re-furbishing work. The car was sold in need of re-trimming work and further re-chroming was required, particularly the bumpers.

The Triumph changed hands in 2010/2011 and the new owner treated the car to a full re-trim and had the bumpers re-chromed. The car was then back in use and later down the line was treated to a full re-paint and some timber frame refurbishment. In 2019 KKM 365 was put through a program of light mechanical work to include a new clutch, removing and re-furbishing the fuel tank, new fuel line, re-lining brakes, a new electric fuel pump, new battery and engine service to include plugs plus oil and filter.

Having covered very low mileage in recent years, Triumph is now offered onto the market on the button, and ready to enjoy. The Triumph starts reliably, runs lovely and the 2.0 engine offers good power and performance. The four-speed floor change gearbox is lovely to use, the Roadster handles nicely and is ideal for summer use and country lanes. The car presents very well with a nice, deep shining paint finish, impressive chrome work and the upholstery is very well presented with lovely leather and an excellent mohair hood. This is a pretty, well presented, usable example that has sensible upgrades for regular use.
