Triumph Spitfire 1300 - 1974
Finished in BRG, New tan top quality hood from Rimmer Bros , K&N filters, sports exhaust, (sound great, very raspy). Nice interior & carpets are good, with new wooden steering wheel original is available if required, starts up first time and stops well, MOT until October 2018, passed with no advisories, (which is something the one I had in 1983 didn’t!) tax exempt, new coil, battery, plugs and leads, new oil & filter, tires are all good, never over heats, it fly’s along with plenty of acceleration, a small miss fire sometimes, in low revs if pulling away quickly. Doesn’t happen if smooth pull away. She needs a good warm up for five minutes from cold, she runs much better after.
Underneath is very sound with no rust or holes I had her up on a ramp and the garage were quite impressed with the condition underneath, sills are all good.
Hard top needs slight attention, as it needs a new head liner but 2 x hood covers available one tan & one black, original black hood is available as well if wanted, plus tonneau cover.
This is a 44 year old car so there are some blemishes, some small bubbles on the hood, and the odd little mark here and there, which is to be expected, it’s not a show car.
You would have to get used all of bald blokes with beards & pipes coming up to you to talk about her whenever you park up but it’s great when all the other classics wave & smile when they pass!
It’s a great little car to wiz around the country lanes in the spring & summer, but I use her all year round, on dry days as the heater is brilliant.
