1979' Yamaha XT500

Rare UK model. I bought this around a year ago after it had been sitting for quite a few years. Its had new brake shoes front and rear. New kickstart lever, rear shocks, taper steering head bearings, oil and filter and both gauze strainers cleaned, valve clearances points and timing set. Runs and rides superb, pulls nice and strong. I've done a few 100+ mile trips with no issues., Does smoke a bit on start up from cold, probably the valve stem oil seals, it soon clears and hasn't worried me enough to get them done. Electrics may need some attention as lights are dim and a new battery is needed. Nothing major all the wiring appears to be pretty much original. Its not a mint restored example but good useable condition, that could be improved on. Matching frame and engine numbers. MOT and tax exempt. £3500. Located Felpham, West Sussex. the details below.
