1950' Bedford OB DUPLE

The most iconic of all classic coaches and a manageable size to accommodate.
Often dreamt of owning one of these which became a reality in 2011.
Having been a Vauxhall/Bedford apprentice in the 60's I feel I can claim that I am qualified to state "a professional restoration" which was verified when winning the members vote at the 75th anniversary bash at Luton in 2014.
I restored to its original livery as delivered new to Kirbys of Bushey Heath in Hertfordshire on 19/9/1950 the coach features in a book by Ian Read on the Kirby family business,Ian also helped me with some detail to make the restoration correct,it really is as good as it looks in the pics (if not better)
Many thousands of hours and pounds were spent to produce the best of its marque which as previously stated I believe has been confirmed.
Apart from the cosmetics it has had a full engine rebuild including being dynamically balanced making it smoother than when it was produced at the factory,plus electronic ignition for reliability (it already had an alternator fitted).Brakes, Servo and steering box were overhauled etc etc.
It now has a working sunroof and the signwriting is in the traditional manner using real gold leaf (not Vinyl).
Substantial history file with pictures of restoration plus old green log book.
These coaches cost over £100K to restore and I am reluctant to part with it but other factors have to be faced.
