Hi for sale is my father in laws Austin 12/4 Ascot. The car is in very nice condition, and was restored a few years ago. Originally the car was I understand was a taxi in London and survived the war!. Now it is time to sell the car. It has been parked in the barn for a couple of years and needs a little work to get running as it should. The starter motor needs attention (where the manual actuator connects to the main body). I have started the car but it fouled the plugs. I have used the car in a few rallies and my father in law has gone all over Derbyshire, but sadly due to illness the car has been left idle for a few years.
As I understand this 1938 12/4 Ascot includes a 1530cc side valve engine, 4 speed gearbox (syncromesh on top three gears), superior Girling rod brakes, sunshine roof & fold-out luggage rack. The interior and exterios are good condition. I especially like the rear window sun blind!
It is in a nice condition, and interior condition is good.
The paintwork is in a good condition, some micro-blistering and a scratch on the bonnet where it has caught on the lights when opening.
Number Plate is Transferable - Valued at £500-800.00 - If not wanted the price can be reduced and number removed
Best to come and have a look and see for yourself!!
