1953 Bentley R Type Continental H.J.Mulliner Fastback Chassis BC21B
A lovely example of the iconic fastback, which underwent a full ground up restoration in the 2000s, evidenced with photos showing the car stripped to a bare chassis frame. Since then, the car has had minimal use and is still excellent, even the underside being virtually spotless! At the same time as the restoration was carried out, the original engine was upgraded to 4.9 litre, the work being done correctly and impressively. The whole car, although having matured slightly and appealingly since the renovation, still has a fresh feel to it, particularly the impressive interior, with the red leather, carpets and headlining all looking, feeling and even smelling new, with the wood having a lovely satin finish, all very tasteful and extremely well executed. Looking at the underside of the car reveals the extent of the restoration and tells a story about how well the car has been looked-after since. Driving very nicely, fitted with Harvey Bailey anti roll bars front and rear, ready for the open road and some leg stretching!
