For sale by auction 13 September 2020 - Collection André Trigano by Artcurial Motorcars

French title
Chassis no. 880333

- Ceremonial car
- Well-preserved condition, low mileage
- The penultimate Delage ever built
- No reserve

The finish of this Delage 3-litre D6 limousine is the penultimate Delage ever buit. According to André Trigano, "There were two cars of this type: one reserved for the National Assembly, the other used by Maurice Thorez. This is the National Assembly car." It was therefore used by Edouard Herriot, then its president. As he was also mayor of Lyon, he often took the train to Paris and was driven from the station to the Assembly. "It can't have been driven very much", Trigano adds, and indeed the odometer shows only 9967 km, probably its mileage from new. An official French tricolour was attached to the left front wing but has been stolen.
The car has bodywork by Guilloré. The rear compartment is equipped with every comfort expected of a luxury car: a deep velour bench seat with a central armrest, ashtray, grab handles and jump seats. Behind the glass division, the chauffeur sits on a leather bench seat facing a lavishly equipped wooden dashboard. Fitted with a Cotal electromagnetic gearbox, it has 'pontoon' styling typical of Delage's cars in the 1950s. Well preserved, it is one of the last representatives of this splendid make, in its most luxurious form.

We inform buyers that all the vehicles in the collection have been little used during the last years as they are part of a museum collection. They are sold as presented and therefore require recommissioning before being driven on the public roads.

Estimate: 25 000 - 35 000 €
