1955' Jaguar Xk140

This Jaguar XK140 drophead coupe is an original UK, right-hand drive car. It was first dispatched on the 8th of July 1955 and sold to J. Abrahams & Sons, London SW7. It retains its stunning original colour scheme of Suede Green with a Fawn hood and even still has its original registration number.

The car underwent a full restoration in the early 1990's and a photographic record of this is included in the history file. At this time the car was rebuilt and the colour was changed to British Racing Green. In 2003 the car was brought here to Twyford Moors for an extensive overhaul which included much mechanical work, repainting the car in its original Suede Green and retrimming the car with a Fawn hood. The hood was originally P.V.C. which was a rather rare factory option however it has been retrimmed in Mohair which most will agree is a great improvement and how the vast majority of XKs were finished.

Today this beautiful XK140 features a number of upgrades to improve the modern driving experience. These upgrades include disc brakes, electric power steering, alternator, electric cooling fan, header tank and inertia seat belts. The car has been maintained in excellent condition over the years. The paintwork, chrome and trim are all in excellent condition. The engine gives smooth and even power delivery and mated to the original Moss gearbox with overdrive this car is both eager when pulling away and relaxed when at cruising speed in overdrive.
