Chassis No NA0897

Engine No 1111AN

Registration AKW67

NA0897 left the Abingdon factory doors at the end of 1935, finished in Old English White. Then being first registered on 25th January 1936 as AKW67.

In 1975 AKW67 was exported to Australia. During 1992/93 a full body off restoration was undertaken, along with full mechanical restoration also been completed for her owner Peter Harper. The original colour being replaced by the current two-tone Green.

In 2015 Pre-war MG specialist Barry Walker acquired the car from Australia. Upon returning to home soil Barry was able to re-obtain the original registration AKW67 from the DVLA. Barry sold the car to our client and vendor early in 2016. Whereupon AKW67 joined the rest of his automotive collection. Since the start of 2019, every car in the collection has been under review, with each car being assessed, AKW67 has only had limited use over the last 3 years with less than 300 miles covered over this time, so she is offered for sale.

AKW67 still retains her original factory number 1275cc 6 cylinder engine, the four-seater coachwork and interior trim is in excellent condition as you would expect. Full wet weather gear hood, Side screens and tonneau are also present the condition of which equal to the rest of the car.

During my review and road test and can confirm oil pressure, remained constant at 50/60 psi, As the car warmed through to full working temp, she just felt better and better singing along at 55-60 mph. Certainly a car well suited to our twisty B roads along with the larger A roads.

A great Triple M car which would be at home in a whole host of VSCC events, from concourse, to road rallies and tours like the VSCC 2020 Snowdonia Rally. Or if your feeling so inclined the MG triple M register have Mary Harris trophy at Brands Hatch every April always a great social occasion. The annual MG v lesser marques (Riley/Austin) race hosted by the VSCC each year is also a popular social occasion along with the ever-popular VSCC set 3 racing to enjoy. This car could be a fabulous catalyst for a very active motoring calendar.
