Seller's comments about 1933' Alfa Romeo 6C

William I'Anson Ltd are delighted to offer this 1933 Alfa Romeo 6c 1900 Gran Turismo Spider .
This is a rare sixth-series Alfa Romeo 6C 1900 Gran Turismo, one of just 197 examples produced in 1933, retaining matching chassis, engine and gearbox numbers, and now presented in a supercharged specification.
With a well documented history, this car was first registered in Milan in July 1933 with Touring saloon coachwork. Later owned by Bart Loyens (noted supplier to the Schlumpf Museum) and recorded by Alfa Romeo historian Angela Cherrett.
It was subject to a comprehensive restoration in 2009/ 10, where it was stripped to bare chassis and comprehensively rebuilt by leading marque experts Paul Jaye and Paul Grist, with a supercharger rebuilt by Derek Chinn Precision Engineering.
The Touring Le Mans-style bodywork was expertly fitted by Paul Jaye using an unused Neil Twyman body originally built for an 8C 2300, finished with period-correct detailing.
This car is an evocative pre-war Alfa Romeo, ideal for the open road, tours and Mille Miglia retrospectives, Goodwood, Motor Racing Legends, VSCC, and whole host of historic motoring events. This represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a motor car that is as exhilarating to drive as it is rewarding to own, and pleasing to look at.
